Pen, Ink, Create – Inktober Challenge 2025

October is nearly here – which means Inktober is back! ✨

This global art challenge encourages artists to pick up a pen and draw every day in October. The official prompts can be found in the button below, but feel free to create your own themes if the list doesn’t inspire you.

The Inktober challenge was created by artist Jake Parker and is focused on a simple goal: improving skill and developing positive drawing habits. Every day for the month of October, anyone participating creates an ink drawing and posts it online. While Inktober began with a focus on traditional inking, the rules are flexible.

The challenge is about improving your skills, whatever your chosen medium. Digital inking is absolutely welcome, as are markers, watercolors, and calligraphy. You can even sketch out your drawing in pencil before inking - whatever your creative process is, embrace it! The goal is to create daily, not to limit your toolbox.

The aim is simple: Try to draw 31 ink pieces throughout October.

Official Inktober Rules

Here’s how to get involved with Indigo Giclée:

1) Create your ink drawings – inspired by each daily word prompt.

2) Post them on your Instagram feed (not just Stories).

3) Tag both @indigogiclee and @inktober in your post.

At the start of November, we’ll pick our favourite ink drawing.

The winner will receive:

🖤 1 X Set of fine art pens

🖤 1 x A3 Giclée print of their winning artwork

🖤 1 x A4 Giclée print of their winning artwork

🖤 20 x Greetings cards (with envelopes) of their winning artwork

It’s a fantastic way to sharpen your creativity, join a global movement, and maybe even see your work professionally printed.

So grab your pen, get creative, and share your art with us this Inktober.

We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
